Syllabus for IBPS RRB 2017 Exam

Reasoning Ability

Reasoning Ability is an onerous section. With the increasing complexity of questions, it becomes hard for one to give it the cold shoulder. Earlier students used to have a mindset of ignoring the complex puzzles, thereby solving the other questions that were comparatively easy. But to their dismay, this strategy won’t be working anymore as so many questions from the other topics like directions, etc. are being asked in the form of puzzles only. The only way to make the grade in this particular section in the forthcoming exam of IBPS RRB is to practice continuously with all your heart and soul. Following is the syllabus of Reasoning Ability for IBPS RRB 2017 Examination:

  • Puzzles
  • Seating Arrangements
  • Direction Sense
  • Blood Relation
  • Syllogism
  • Order and Ranking
  • Coding-Decoding
  • Machine Input-Output
  • Inequalities
  • Alpha-Numeric-Symbol Series
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Logical Reasoning (Passage Inference, Statement and Assumption, Statement & Conclusion, Argument and Cause & Effect)

Worried regarding what was asked in the reasoning section of RRB Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I exam last year!! So here the complete analysis of reasoning section of  RRB Exam 2016.

Quantitative Aptitude

This section has always been giving the aspirants heebie-jeebies when they appear for any examination. As the level of every other section is only getting complex and convoluted, there is no doubt that this section too will be making your blood run cold. As per the analysis of previous examinations, the questions asked in this section are calculative and very time consuming. Data Interpretation and topics from arithmetic section make it hard for one to deal with the section as easily as any other section. The level of questions asked in the previous year RRB Examination was moderate to difficult as most of the questions asked were from arithmetic section that almost every aspirant broke out in a cold sweat. Following is the syllabus of Quantitative Aptitude for IBPS RRB 2017 Examination:

  • Data Interpretation (Bar Graph, Line Chart, Tabular, Caselet, Radar/Web, Pie Chart)
  • Inequalities (Quadratic Equations)
  • Number Series
  • Approximation and Simplification
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Miscellaneous Arithmetic Problems (HCF and LCM, Profit and Loss, SI & CI, Problem on Ages, Work and Time, Speed Distance and Time, Probability, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership, Problems on Boats and Stream, Problems on Trains, Mixture and Allegation, Pipes and Cisterns).

So this was the syllabus of Quantitative Aptitude for IBPS RRB Exam and here are the details of the questions asked in quantitative aptitude section of  IBPS RRB 2016 Exam.

General Awareness

So much is happening around the globe every day that unless you keep yourself abreast of these updates you cannot adjust yourself to deal with the GA section of any exam smoothly and easily. The questions asked in last year's General Awareness Section were mainly based on Banking Awareness, Static Awareness, and Current Affairs. Unless one knows the historical background or the geographical location of the events reported, they will convey little of value of importance. In short, one must bring to the reading of newspapers an educated mind, an informed judgment, and an essentially critical understanding, if they are to serve any purpose in the forthcoming competitive examinations.
  • Banking and Insurance Awareness
  • Financial Awareness
  • Govt. Schemes and Policies
  • Current Affairs
  • Static Awareness

Computer Knowledge

Computer Knowledge is a subject, many students are already familiar with. With practice and the right approach this is surely a section which can fetch you those much easily attainable marks. To score well in this section you need to know some technical aspect and proper definitions. An important point for you to consider is that this section has good cut off in most examinations. Computer Knowledge or Awareness is a vast subject with each topic as a subject in itself. It is important for you to know what to study and how much to study for banking examinations. This is the syllabus of Computer Knowledge for IBPS RRB 2017 Exam:
  • History and Generation of Computers
  • Introduction to Computer Organisation
  • Computer Memory
  • Computer Hardware and I/O Devices
  • Computer Software
  • Computer Languages
  • Operating System
  • Computer Network
  • Internet
  • MS Office Suit and Short cut keys
  • Basics of DBMS
  • Number System and Conversions
  • Computer and Network Security
