UPSC CMSE Exam 2017 – Apply Online for 710 Posts: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for the recruitment of 710 vacancies by conducting Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) – 2017. Eligible candidates may apply online from 26-04-2017 to 19-05-2017 till 06:00 pm. Age Limit: Candidates must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 01-08-2017. Upper age limit is relaxable as per rules.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on written examination, interview/ personality test.
Application Fee: Candidates should pay Rs. 200/- through online or offline. No fee for Female/ SC/ ST/ PH Candidates.
Offline: Candidates should pay fee by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash.
Online: Candidates should pay fee through online by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ Sate Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.
How to Apply: Eligible candidates may apply online through the website www.upsconline.nic.in from 26-04-2017 to 19-05-2017 till 06:00 pm.
Instructions to Apply Online:
1. Before applying online candidates have to scan the copies of photograph & signature.
2. Log on through the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
3. Click on “Online Application for Various Examinations of UPSC”.
4. Click on “Part – I/ Part – II Registration”.
5. Read the Important Instructions & fill the form with all the relevant details & submit the application form.
6. After successful registration, a unique registration ID will be allotted, note down the ID & password.
7. Now fill the personal profile, contact details, age relaxation if applicable.
8. Now fill the details of qualification, experience.
9. Now fill the details of Professional Registration, Language, Miscellaneous Module.
10. Now candidate have to choose the Recruitment Test Centre.
11. Now candidates have to upload documents in Document Upload Module
12. After uploading photograph & signature preview the ORA form and check the details carefully.
13. Now click on the submit button
14. Candidates can Pay Online using the Internet banking facility in SBI or other associated banks or can pay through Visa/ Master Debit or Credit card issued by any Bank/ Institution.
15. Here the Transaction ID & Date of Registration details will directly uploaded automatically.
16. Now pay the fee through cash at any branch of State Bank of India through the Pay-in-Slip
17. A transaction ID will be given, again revisit the website and click on the “Click here to view your Previous/ Currently active applications”.
18. Log in by registration ID & password, candidates can see “My Active Application (My draft Application)” link.
19. Now fill the details of transaction ID and Date of Transaction if paid through cash.
20. Click “Continue”, check the details of fee and submit the application.
21. Now take the printout copies of application attach the attested copies of all documents and keep it for future use.

Age Limit: Candidates age should be in between to 30 years on the 01-05-2017 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 02-05-1987 and not later than 01-05-1996. For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification, upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively. Age relaxation is admissible as per rules.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ ST/ PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s Degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations for S.No-1, Master’s Degree in Economics/ Econometrics/ Quantitative Economics/ Mathematical Economics/ Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/ Institute for S.No-2, Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years or Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute or M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years or Post Graduation Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years for S.No-3 posts with adequate experience.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on applicants performance in online examination phase -I , II & Interview.

MoUs Worth Rs 2 Lakh Crores Signed in the India Integrated Transport & Logistics Summit 
i. Thirty-four MoUs amounting to about Rs 2 lakh crores were signed in the three-day India Integrated Transport and Logistics Summit that was concluded in New Delhi. The Summit was attended by around 3000 delegates from India and abroad, which included central and state government organizations, international organizations like World Bank and ADB, delegates, global transport and supply chain experts and representatives of private companies. 

Haryana govt to offer meals at subsidized rates for workers
i. The Haryana government has decided to open canteens offering meals at subsidized rates to registered construction workers under the "Antyodaya Anna Yojana" at 23 locations in the state. Besides, mobile food vans would be started at 23 convenient sites with a large number of workers.



The promulgation of the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017
i. The promulgation of the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017 inserting two new Sections (viz. 35AA and 35AB) after Section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 enables the Union Government to authorize the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to direct banking companies to resolve specific stressed assets by initiating insolvency resolution process, where required. The RBI has also been empowered to issue other directions for resolution, and appoint or approve for appointment, authorities or committees to advise banking companies for stressed asset resolution. 

ii. This action of the Union Government will have a direct impact on the effective resolution of stressed assets, particularly in the consortium or multiple banking arrangements, as the RBI will be empowered to intervene in specific cases of resolution of non-performing assets, to bring them to a definite conclusion. 

iii. The Government is committed to the expeditious resolution of stressed assets in the banking system. The recent enactment of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), 2016 has opened up new possibilities for time-bound resolution of stressed assets. The SARFAESI and Debt Recovery Acts have been amended to facilitate recoveries. A comprehensive approach is being adopted for the effective implementation of various schemes for timely resolution of stressed assets. 

Cabinet committee approves seven top-level changes in various banks
i. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved seven top-level changes in various public sector banks. Usha Ananthasubramanian, MD, and CEO, Punjab National Bank, has been appointed as MD & CEO of Allahabad Bank. Sunil Mehta, Executive Director, Corporation Bank, has been appointed as MD & CEO of Punjab National Bank. The committee has also approved the appointment of Dinabandhu Mohapatra, Executive Director at Canara Bank, as MD and CEO of Bank of India.

ii. G Rajkiran Rai, Executive Director at Oriental Bank of Commerce, has been appointed MD & CEO of Union Bank of India, for a period of three years with effect from July 1. R Subramaniakumar, Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank, has been elevated as MD & CEO of the bank. RA Sankara Narayanan, ED, Bank of India, has been appointed MD & CEO of Vijaya Bank with effect from September 1. MO Rego, MD & CEO of Bank of India, has been appointed MD & CEO of Syndicate Bank with immediate effect.
