i. Jammu and Kashmir governor N N Vohra inaugurated the second International Yoga Festival and International Yoga Sports Championship 2017.
ii. The festival is being organized by the Yoga Society of Kashmir at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre. About 300 participants from various parts of India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Canada, Bulgaria, USA, and Nepal are participating in the festival.

The new system would be valid for the next six months and after that National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) would submit a report of its performance to the apex court, on the basis of which a new course of action would be decided.

i. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) allowed Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) to raise capital by issuing debt securities.
ii. The move will help attract investors to the capital-starved property sector. In addition to allowing bond issuances, SEBI also introduced the concept of strategic investor for REITs, similar to InvITs.

10. M&M enters into strategic alliance with Ford

i. Mahindra & Mahindra has entered into a strategic alliance with US car major Ford Motor Company to explore cooperation in the sphere of products, technologies, and distribution.
ii. The joint statement issued by the company stated that teams from both companies will collaborate and work together for a period of up to three years.

i. Mark Beaumont has broken the world record for cycling around the world - by 44 days. The 34-year-old, from Perthshire, arrived in Paris one day ahead of schedule having cycled the 18,000-mile route in 79 days.
ii. He set a new world record of 194 days in 2008. Since then it has been broken by other riders, with the previous record set at 123 days. He was on his bike for more than 16 hours a day and only slept for five hours each night.

ii. He was followed by Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo in the 2nd position and Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas in the 3rd.
